OK…so you did it. You opened up a conversation with a woman. She found you interesting enough to start talking to you. But now you have to keep going. How do you never run out of things to say?

2. Whatever you have to say is compelling because you think it is. If you think that something is compelling or interesting then talk about it. If you genuinely feel that way, then it will come across genuinely interesting – because you find it to be.

3. Stop trying to think ahead about what you’re going to say. Be in the moment. Trying to plan out your conversation can make things abrupt and awkward. And nothing beats the magic of in-the-moment responses. Don’t think ahead. It will only trip you up. Be present – you’ll be more interesting.

4. Lower your standards for what you say. When talking to women, especially extremely attractive women, men often have “high standards” for what they need to say. They judge themselves. But do you judge what you’re about to say when youa re talking to a friend or a family member  If you judge yourself, how can you expect the woman not to? Don’t filter or judge yourself. Lower your standards for “how good” something has to be before you say it. 

5. It’s not what you say, its the energy behind how you say it

Seriously, you’ve heard countless times that “it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.” If you find something compelling or interesting, and talk about it that way, it will come across as compelling and interesting.

If you can talk about McDonald’s burgers in a passionate way and explain why you’re so passionate about them, you’ll find that the passion is infections – and it doesn’t really matter what the subject matter is.

What places do you think are the most conducive to meeting new women?

I prefer the club scene.

It has the best quality of girls in large quantity. It also weeds out the weak; guys that can’t handle approaching in a club setting. If you can handle a loud, packed club, you’ll be able to handle most any situation.

But its through your social circle or day game that you’re likely to find a woman for a quality, long term relationship. So to each their poison and what their goals are.

Any area with a high concentration of women all in one place.

For most cities, this would probably be bars and clubs. But there are some cities, like New York and London, where there are huge numbers of attractive women at other locations, such as subway stations, public parks, or shopping malls.

I think it’s helpful to be in an area where there are lots of women around. This way you don’t have too much time in between approaches to start thinking really hard and talking yourself out of it.

There are many different ways to meet women that are great.

As examples:

Nightclubs- offers a large volume of women in one area.  This is good for quickly approaching girl after girl, but it’s very random and you’re dealing with a woman, plus her group of friends, and the ambiance of the nightclub.

Online dating- allows men to browse a catalog of women in the comforts of their own home.  However, it can be hit or miss because until a man actually meets the girl in person, he just doesn’t know how it will turn out.

My personal favorite is meeting girls out during the day, especially on the streets.  I can only imagine my future children asking me how I met their mother, and me responding, “I met your mother on the streets”. Meeting women on the streets is great because simply approaching demonstrates high value (courage, confidence) and it fulfills the female fantasy of being unsuspectingly swept off her feet i.e. romantic comedy effect.

What places do you think are most conducive to meeting new women?  Places where women go.

Not bars where they put on their look at me outfits.

Yoga studios, supermarkets.  Women eat.  They need to eat.  They like to work out.  Coffee shops are great.  Flea markets are great.  Women love to poke around flea markets; it’s a blast.  Farmer’s markets, once again they like the experience of looking at fruits, vegetables, food.

So places where women are.  Not the stereotypical bar place where women are basically in outfits that are called look at me, look at me, I’m here to blow you off all night.  Go where women are.  That’s what I always do.

But more importantly, just don’t go out to chase women.  Go out to do things you enjoy, because when you’re doing things you’ll enjoy yourself and you’ll have more things to talk about so you don’t look like a PUA asshole.

The easy answer is bars…but it’s one of the most frustrating as well.

A couple of my offbeat favorites are little wine bars because often groups of women will go in together before they go elsewhere, they’re having a girl’s night, and it’s easy to approach them and ask their opinion on wine.  I’ve had a lot of luck with that.

Along those lines, Sushi restaurants on a Friday or Sat night.  Because sushi is light, a lot of women will go out and eat sushi before their night begins…and it’s very easy to approach them and tell them you’re kind of new to sushi and would love some recommendations, and then find out what they’re doing afterwards.

Night clubs is the short answer. Here’s why:

#1. You can meet many single women very quickly.

#2. With so many woman, you can quickly build social momentum, and the charisma starts to flow.

#3. You’re allowed to get more physical, more quickly.

However, the guys who will do best will just work with the locations they’ve got and BE CONSISTENT in going out. You can have great locations around, but the guy in the small town will do better than the guy in the big city if he cultivates good, daily habits.

Unless you are running day game and picking up women on the street or at the store, chances are you’re not going to find too many women standing around by themselves. You’re going to have to learn how to approach a group of girls.

This can be very intimidating…especially if your’e not sure about what to do. But it’s a skill that you pretty much have to master if you’re going to be going out at night in hopes of meeting women. Women normally don’t go out by themselves – so you’re going to have to learn to approach them in groups.

Richard Gambler just released a video that quickly describes the techniques that you can use to approach a group of women while pretty much eliminating your risk of failure.

Much of the success of your approach depends on your actions prior to the actual approach. In other words, it’s all about body language. You can pretty much start the conversation non-verbally so by the time you actually make your approach the group is there waiting for you with open arms.

Gambler outlines these three rules for approaching a set:

• Approach immediately – When you see a group of girls and you notice one girl you like, approach them immediately and don’t think about it.

• Take control – When a friend tries to take over the conversation and muscle you out, make it a point to lead the interaction so that you are in control.

• Grab a wingman – If the group is too large you might want to get your wingman to help you after a couple of minutes, just to take the heat off you a bit and allow you to focus on a couple of girls.

There are a large number of them that are variations on the same theme. They are very good very variations, but the same theme none the less.

There are also techniques that are completely off the reservation in terms of methodology and technique, I’m just mean very bizarre and counter-intuitive methods. Then, there are the inspirational pick up types.

I think it’s important for guys to research extensively before purchasing or taking a class. If you’re an informed buyer, you will know that you’ve found the right program for you because in pick up, one guy can’t be everything to everybody.

I really don’t know. I learned my method from naturals and from my own trial and error. I have not studied all the other training programs on the Internet. I have no idea what the other coaches are teaching, so I can’t comment on it.

It depends.  I know a lot of great coaches, and I know just as many lousy ones too.

It’s not my place to say which is better than the other, but as long as the coach gets the client out of the house and excited to approach hot women, it’s a good start.

I have no idea what PUA training programs do. I know the ones that go out there and they talk about PUA lingo, I think basically are for young guys. Guys that are like 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Guys that are trying to hit on young girls, high school girls and college girls..because those are the type of girls that are going to buy stupid lines.

But, if you’re over the age of 22, you need to really look at approaching life concepts; life confidence…stuff that can work in all aspects of your life.

All of my students are all more successful in their business life and personal life all because of learning how to become the most confident, powerful version of themselves…because that’s what life is about. By becoming confident, you become attractive to the opposite sex and people want to be around you. People want to be your friend. People want to do business with you. People want to sleep with you. It’s that simple.

Learn lines and routines, and hopefully after some time you get so good in repeating them that you eventually feel confident delivering them.

It’s the wrong approach because you are hiding your insecurities behind lines you memorized.  Girls will sooner or later realize that you suck inside and run away from you. You have to understand that they are evolutionary programmed to run away from insecure guys (they provide bad offspring).

I have more of an inside-outside approach to teaching guys.

This simply means I help the guy get confident, dominant, and place him in right frame of “I am the Man”. And then you don’t have to teach him routines, lines, or what to say. At that point they will know what to say and what to do just because he feels and thinks in right way.

There are a core set of skills that good PUAs have. This is what is often called ‘solid game’. Some PUAs have it naturally while others have learned it through a conscious process. There are unique technical elements to some training i.e. particular things you can say e.g. language patterns/routines, tactics to influence a group, ways of thinking that results in particular mindsets and techniques for controlling your state.

They are all tapping into or moving people towards behaviors;  ways of thinking and acting that are generally attractive to females. Concepts such as triggering attraction, communicating congruently and building comfort/connection, are basic ideas that can approached from different paths.

In a previous post I showed several examples of street pickup. While mastering day game and street game can yield incredible results for many aspiring pickup artists, the fact remains that most men still feel more comfortable with night game and picking up women at nightclubs.

Night game is the general label for anything that has to do with going out to social functions…at night. This can be nightclubs, bars or even parties. AA all stems from ego and value taking. You come into the set feeling that you need to take something (a phone number, sex, etc) or you care too much about what people think about you. Once you are able to approach without expecting an predetermined outcome, so many doors will be opened to you so it is imperative that you can at least approach.

Approach anxiety is part of a larger problem called “Social Anxiety,” which has been studied and treated for years by the therapists and psychologists.

If someone wants to bear AA quickly, I usually address it as part of Social Anxiety, and treat it accordingly, using a series of de-sensitation exercises. I call them “Social Freedom Exercises.” These are available at BradP.com in my program “How to Beat Approach Anxiety.”

Overcoming approach anxiety is forcing yourself to just do the approach.  Like Nike says, “Just Do It”.

Find ways to hold yourself accountable, accept no excuses, and put yourself in no way out situations. Turn thoughts of “should” to “must”.

The quickest way to overcome “approach anxiety” is to place one foot in front of the other.  One foot forward, and trust that the other will follow.

Remember, ”the mind follows the body”, and this is when “approach anxiety” becomes “approach adrenaline” because you’re forced to take action.

The only thing guaranteed by not approaching is regret, disappointment, and living a mediocre life because of cowardice. I doubt any man wants to live this way, but so many do.

Ultimately, the decision to approach is a question of courage and whether a man has it. *Note- every man has it, he just needs to activate it by taking action.

Here’s the quickest way to overcome approach anxiety: realizing that it’s not going to happen overnight.

As I mentioned earlier, just like anything in life, you need to go and build building blocks.

In order to overcome approach anxiety, you need to realize that people are not going to scream at you. In my entire life I’ve never been slapped or yelled by any woman no matter what I’ve said.

So, I tell every single guy to go out there and just smile at women. Get comfortable. Talk to people. Become more sociable with everybody around you. Learn that there is a formula in life.

Let’s say you own a business and you approach 10 people. And you want 10 people to come and buy your products. Not everyone is going to say “yes”. Some are going to say “no”. Some are going to ignore you and some are going to be intrigued.

If you’re a football player, you’re going to complete 60% of your passes and the other 40% are going to go all over the field. In baseball, if you get three hits for every 10 at bat, you’re successful.

So, you need to realize that just because you’re out there talking to people, doesn’t mean you’re going to have success with every single one of them. Success only comes to those that can take a “no” and quickly  move on. There’s no such thing as failure in life. It’s a perfectly acceptable thing for someone not to respond to you. It’s all mindset.

Realize that the approach only lasts one second and it’s over.

Take the importance off of it and also keep in mind that every girl you see is battling some kind of insecurity.  Usually the hotter they are the more insecure they are.  They’re looking for validation.  Make a habit of just approaching and saying “HI” even if it’s the scariest thing in the world.

The next skill is to get really good at transitioning to some non-threatening topic that she can talk about.  Once you know that you can talk to any girl after you open her, it’s not scary at all.

Approach anxiety comes from having your expectations set to high. If you think you have to “achieve” something (like make the girl like you), then you’ll have approach anxiety.

If you go with NO objectives, not to get laid, not to make her like you, but JUST to say “hello” and that’s ALL… you’ll cut out HALF of the approach anxiety.

Once you say hello to a few girls, you’ll build a little social momentum, and then the OTHER half of the approach anxiety will melt away.

So the key is to have NO expectations or goals at the beginning, and then do a few “hello, let’s just be social” approaches. But you see, only by taking ACTION can you eliminate all approach anxiety. Meaning, you can’t eliminate it completely on that very first approach. That’s not the answer most guys want to hear though.

I think a combination of talking to everyone and not even seeing it as a pick up approach is a good place to start.

If you talk to everyone in your daily life, that hot girl is just another person you have to talk to when you leave the house. When you get comfortable talking to people while gradually adding in seductive elements such as themes attractive to the female brain, you shore up your social skills, increase you comfort level and become a genuinely engaging person who can converse on a range of subjects. The other useful idea I mentioned is reframing what you are doing. If you say to yourself ‘I have to approach’ and you see the girl you like as having power to refuse you then it’s quite normal to feel anxious. If you, instead, talk to everyone you meet and see this as just ‘meeting new people’, you take the pressure off. Meeting new people is about giving them a chance to see your engaging personality, and gives you the power to find out if they are kind of person you’d want to let into your life in a more meaningful way.

A person’s physical appearance is not enough to decide if they are good enough to let into your life. There are a lot of unstable, nutty people out there – and a fair share of them are females. Nuttiness is fairly spread out across the sexes. You need to screen who you let into your life and you do that by giving them a chance to show you they are the person you hope they are. Some will disappoint you, some will be a partial match and a few will a great match. By talking to them you are finding out who is behind the appearance their genes constructed for them. Everyone deserves a chance! The ones who are not interested are even doing you a favour because they are ruling themselves out right away so saving you from investing time, energy and money in someone who doesn’t deserve what you have to offer.

This is fine to understand in theory but acting on it is hard for some people, I know that. The practical step is to first getting talkative to people in general and to see your conversations with them as meeting new people. By improving your overall interpersonal skills you will become far more rounded as a person, you’ll become better calibrated and able to guide your interactions towards a win-win outcome where you give something of value to the people you enjoy being with while at the same time leading them towards giving you what you know you will both enjoy.

Anyone out there dealing with approach anxiety needs a cup of truth to swallow. Stop being a scared BOY and start being the MAN you want to be. Do you think that you can improve this aspect of your life if you’re just going to walk around being scared of the very thing you’re trying to connect with? Is a man scared to talk to women?

No one gives a shit about your abilities to get women into you except for you. No one is going to do this for you. Sure, you could hide behind a computer screen and score a bunch of leftovers on a dating website without ever having to cold approach a girl but is that what you really want? OF COURSE NOT! So when are you going to step up and act on the dream you have of waking up next to the most beautiful woman you’ve ever met?

I have “Pull The Trigger” tattooed on my left forearm because a man pursues what he wants with no apologies, no fear and no hesitation. And if that constant reminder is what you need to fill your shoes as a man then maybe you should do the same.

Notice a pattern from these videos about how to approach and meet women on the street?

They all used a pretty direct approach. And it really makes a lot of sense to do this.

You do indirect approaches in social situations where interaction is the norm. But just stopping someone in the street…you better have a good excuse for that.

Most people, especially in large cities where people are always on the run, would be annoyed (or even angry) if you stopped them without having a good reason to do so.

But how can a woman get annoyed if you stop her and give her a compliment? She won’t.

Street pickup has so much potential if you can break through the anxiety that will inevitably come along with it. Are you game?
